EditGrid enables you and your colleagues to view and edit the same spreadsheet in real-time, and extricates you from the collaborative spreadsheet nightmares -- unsynchronised versions, emailing spreadsheets all over the place &c. become things of the past.
What is the single most important feature of EditGrid? Real-time update. We call it RTU. With RTU, multiple users can edit a spreadsheet simultaneously, with changes synchronised in real-time to all other users opening the same spreadsheet. Co-editors are always working on the latest version.
Other people's changes are shown on screen in red flashes, so that you can be notified of the most up-to-date data from your colleagues.
Everyone has one's own privileges and duties. What an account manager can view and edit is not the same as that of a VP in Marketing or that of a customer. EditGrid has a comprehensive sharing mechanism for you to decide who can view or even edit a spreadsheet. You can:
- Keep your spreadsheet private
- Make it readable by anyone knowing the URL
- Make it readable and writable by anyone knowing the URL
- Make it readable by anyone knowing the URL and the password
- Make it readable by anyone knowing the URL and restrict write-permission to only those who knows the password
- Make it readable and writable by anyone knowing the URL and the password
Of course, you can also share a spreadsheet with designated users and assign specific read/write privilege to each co-editor one by one:

With EditGrid's live chat feature, you can instant-message with your colleagues on-the-spot -- no need to switch to another application in order to discuss changes.
If you'd like to prevent others from modifying certain regions (eg regions populated by formulae), you can lock it.
Furthermore, you can organise spreadsheets and users into workspaces. Users belonging to the same workspace will share the same spreadsheet listing, and have the same access privilege as that shared with the workspace. A user can belong to multiple workspaces at the same time (maximum ten for subscribers). Of course, you can also grant read/write privilege to individual users on top of the workspace privileges.
