EditGrid is not a standalone product. EditGrid's My Data Format and its API layer allow it to work well with other systems. You can use EditGrid in your own environments -- including blogs, wikis and webtops.

EditGrid is not just a spreadsheet. Using XSLT, you can also generate your own file format output -- and even feed the output as the input of another application.

One typical use is to generate Google Earth's KML file format from locations plotted on a spreadsheet, as illustrated by the following example.

The EditGrid User and Partner APIs allow you retrieve data from EditGrid and feed data into EditGrid, thus making it possible to integrate EditGrid into your existing applications and services or even to build mashups.

With the EditGrid APIs you can:

• integrate EditGrid into your application
• built add-ons to extend EditGrid
• use EditGrid as the back-end admin interface in your application

Trading Comps, a financial community mashup, is one of the examples which is using the EditGrid APIs.
